What Else Do I Need To Know?

Valuables — All staterooms have safes; however, note that cruise lines are not responsible for valuables left in staterooms or elsewhere on board. Safes are usually operated with either your own credit card or the Sign-in card which you will be issued.

Special Needs — Important: If you have any special needs, please let us know as early as possible so we can alert the ship. Any required equipment must be cleared in advance.

Wheelchairs — If you require a wheelchair, you will need to provide that yourself. Please request a stateroom that will accommodate the wheelchair. Oxygen is allowed on board (no liquid oxygen) and you must provide your own in sufficient quantity. Motorized wheelchairs are okay as long as they are powered by gel-cell batteries, and the charger must be adaptable to 110 volts.

Refrigerator — If you need a refrigerator to store medication, please check with us to be sure your cabin does have one—many of them do have small refrigerators.

Shipboard Billing — All shipboard expenses and/or purchases will be charged to your on-board account, and you will be given a card to use when making purchases. You will be required to deposit cash or travelers checks, or authorize a charge to your Mastercard, Visa, Diner's, American Express or Discover card. You can use a debit card but be aware than cruise lines require pre-authorization and your bank may hold those funds for up to 30 days.

Accepted Payment on Land — Travelers checks, debit cards and most major credit cards are accepted in most of the ports. Be sure to bring proper ID. You may want to carry a small amount of local currency—obtain it before you leave home—it may not be available on the ship.

Medical Care — There will be a doctor and nurse on board the ship to provide medical care and services. You will be charged for such service, and the charges will be HIGH. Travel insurance is highly recommended. Some commonly used medications are kept on board as well. It is possible that sea sick medication will be available at no charge.

Electrical — Electric current is 110 volts. AC. Some high voltage hair dryers, etc., may require a converter.

Gift Service — You can purchase birthday cakes, flowers and more as bon voyage gifts with a 3-week notice.

Customs Allowance — Customs allowance is $800 duty free and everything you purchase must be declared.

Passport/Visa — Non-US citizens must have a valid passport and a valid, unexpired US Multiple Re-entry Visa if applicable. US Alien Residents need a valid Alien Resident Card (green card).
